Presidential Message

June 2016

The water level at Medina lake is up and over the dam.  April showers bring May and June showers.  The rain is a great blessing.  The mosquitos are less enjoyable, but I'd rather have mosquitos and rain than drought.

This month, please join us for our June 21st chapter meeting.  The speaker is from the TX Board of Professional Engineers.  This is our annual ethics meeting.  This meeting is always well attended.  If you’d be interested in sponsoring this meeting or a future meeting, please raise your hand!  In exchange, we’ll give you 5 minutes of presentation time and a captive audience before that meeting.)  We will meet at Oak Hills Country Club, from 11:30 – 1 PM.

Lookahead...Please join us for the following events:

  • 7/9/2016 - Habitat for Humanity Build day - ASHRAE Group (need 8-10 folks)
  • July 2016 - no chapter meeting (summer break)
  • August 2016 - ASHRAE kickoff party (stone street pub @ 1604/281)
  • October 2016 - Fall Sporting Clays Shoot (Will be bigger and better this year)

At last month's meeting, we presented two very deserving UTSA student chapter members with scholarship checks worth $1,000 per each.  We also did some long overdue sponsorship recognition for many of our golf tournament sponsors.  We presented all sponsor attendees with a commemorative pin flag and a handshake.  Thank you sponsors!

I'd like to thank all of the ASHRAE volunteers that served our local chapter this year.  Countless hours and much thankless time and effort went into making this year a great success.  This was a special group and the results spoke for themselves.  We raised more money than we ever have before, had more events, grew the chapter, added new programming....and had a good time doing it.

If you have any suggestions on what you would like the local or regional ASHRAE BOG to accomplish this year, please let us know.
