Once again the torch has been passed and the Board of Governors (BOG) cycle of the Alamo chapter continues. The 2010-2011 BOG has a healthy mix of returning officers and new faces. Our diverse board includes people from the consulting, construction and the facilities/owner sides of our industry. This mix along with help from the membership will help us become an award winning chapter.
In order to be an award winning chapter we all need to work together. Members can help in a variety of simple ways like renewing their membership in a timely fashion, and making sure their online profile is up-to-date on the ASHRAE website. Members can also ask the new person in the office if they are a member and if they have their profile updated. If you are interested in doing a little bit more sign up for one of the committees. The BOG and committee chairs could always use a helping hand. It will take all of us to make a great award winning chapter.
The journey to win awards like the Golden Gavel isn’t just about points. It’s about providing value to our membership. We plan to provide interesting and valuable programs and trainings. We need your input to provide that value. Let us know what kind of programs would benefit you, your staff and your organization. I look forward to this being a great year for the Alamo chapter.
