Presidential Message

February 2016

Alamo ASHRAE,

One of my wiser competitor peers once told me that his favorite holiday was Valentine's day.  Paul Naizer has always been a role model for the young gun sales folks.  If you haven't started thinking about a gift for your significant other, you need to get it into gear ASAP.

I've heard from multiple sources that we were well represented at the ASHRAE show in Florida last week.  That is outstanding.  Thanks for representing the Alamo City/Military City USA.

We have some exciting local events planned for the next few months.  Look for an upcoming announcement about our February and March monthly meetings.  On Thursday April 14th, we will host our annual golf tournament at CANYON SPRINGS golf course.  We’re excited about the new location and hope we are able to raise funds for ASHRAE research in fine fashion.  Each of these events presents an opportunity to mingle with colleagues, maybe learn or teach something new, and support our local chapter.

Please join us at the February 16th monthly meeting, to hear from an ASHRAE distringuished lecturer about distributed VAV airside technologies and best practices in today's HVAC market! This is good subject matter for our local industry.  NOTE the location: We will be meeting at Oak Hills Country Club.  For this February meeting, REC Industries has graciously volunteered to sponsor this month's meeting.  There is an available sponsorship opportunity for any interested party at each of our meetings.  You’ll have a captive audience at your disposal. Take advantage of this opportunity and help support your local ASHRAE chapter.

Society level news? ASHRAE offers some great training courses.  For more info, please follow this link: www.ashrae.org/hvactraining.

If you have any suggestions on what you would like the local or regional ASHRAE Board of Governors (BOG) to accomplish this year, please let us know.

Respectfully,

Aaron Caldwell, LEED AP
